Trick or Treat

Last week, I had the pleasure of making my mother-in-law's halloween buckets for her daycare kids. I love it when she gives me fun projects to do. I am fortunate to have a mother-in-law who trusts me in everything I do! I love to make all things pretty!

pumpkin patch

Natalie along with her cousin Maximus went on their first field trip this past Friday to a pumpkin patch. We got there just before it started getting dark. Perfect timing. They went to see a real pumpkin for the first time and took home 3 cute miniature pumpkins, perfect for their size. hehe. At first, Natalie was a little hesitant seeing all these "orange weird looking things." She didn't want to let me go...until she saw her brave cousin touch one. Then she knew it was safe to play. She is such a girly girl (like her mommy hehehe). Natalie loved it. She was hugging the pumpkins and enjoying herself. My sister and I learned that day it was not a good idea to take your Maclaren stroller to a pumpkin patch. It was all dirt and rocks. We looked like idiots out there! lol. It was pretty funny to see how they were reacting to the rocky ground, both Natalie and Maximus were jumping up and down in their strollers. I was laughing out loud.

Spiderman vs. Buzz Lightyear

In a few weeks, my mother-in-law and myself will be hosting a birthday party for two special boys (MIL's grandsons/my nephews). We are teaming up to give them a cute party they so very much deserve. The party will have two themes: spiderman and buzz lightyear. It'l be hard to connect the two but I'm definitely up for the challenge =) Here are the invitations to the boys birthday party:
I had a idea of what I wanted to do but it was hard putting my vision down on paper. I finally came up with the concept of having both action characters battle each other out and make the images with no color. So, for those who have kids, can design and color spiderman and buzz lightyear themselves. I used red and bright green ribbon (red for spiderman and green for buzz lightyear not intended to use xmas colors hehe) to secure the crayons with the invitation. I thought it would be fun for the kids to do. This party is for the boys to enjoy as well as the kids =) Sorry adults. lol.

puke alert

Since Natalie was born, she has been a "puker" (don't know if that word even exists hehe in my world it does! lol) but anyway she continues to vomit and uses it to her advantage. If she doesn't get what she wants or if you take something away from her that she is not allowed to have or touch, she cries and then we have a puke alert! She will vomit everywhere and anywhere! Ryan and I get extremely angry and frustrated but what can we do??? She has puked all over! From our bed, to both our cars, all over our house. I took her to see her pediatrician twice and still no solid answer or reason to why she persists to vomit and regurgitate.

For a toddler, this little girl can puke! She has a lot of milk and food in her.

I considered keeping her on organic milk, thinking it will help reduce the amount of vomit episodes but no luck. So, we switched back to whole milk and still no change. Every time we go out, I have to bring extra clothing, burp cloths and a towel incase she has another puke alert.
We don't want to completely take the bottle away from her just yet, so, we've decided to cut down on milk. We are aware that she only needs 24-32oz a day. Instead of 5-6 bottles a day, she only gets 4 maybe 5. But absolutely NO BOTTLE after 8:00 PM! And so far, this plan has been effective.
Lord knows, we are tired of scrubbing our floors, shampooing our carpet, wiping down the inside of our cars, washing her carseat, stripping our sheets and doing laundry every night.
My Mom gave her a bottle after 8 PM because she was whining, fussy over wanting milk and this is what happend after....

"I do"

As a small token of my appreciation for saying "I do," I gave all my bridesmaids rings (cute fashionable ones hehe). I know a lot of duties, responsibilities and not to mention money come with being a bridesmaid and I wanted to let them know how extremely thankful I am, they are a part of my wedding.

Lissie aka my older sis has been there for me since forever and without her I don't know what I would do...she is my best friend and I love her unconditionally.

Pinky is my cousin/counselor. I come to her every now and then for free therapy sessions. lol. She is always there for me whenever I need her. I know she is the only one who will pick up her phone at 4 AM if I need to talk. She has always been there to protect me (from Ryan hahaha). I love her to death.

Melissa is my cousin-in-law/advisor/mentor (call it as you wish lol). From the moment I met her, we clicked. I knew this girl was going to be someone special in my life. I can call her and vent my world. She is never too quick to judge but always there to listen. I love her dearly.

Loreena is my cousin-in-law. She always understands me. Never hesitates to ask if I need help. I can always count on her for anything. I still remember the first time I opened up and told these girls my life. I was curling both her and Melissa's hair at Melissa's apartment. I made them look as if they were going to prom! lol. We talked for hours and from that moment on, it made me to believe I can trust these girls with my soul.

Giselle is my cousin and has always been there to lend an ear. I can ask this girl for any help and she is always there for me. I love her deeply.

Loveleen is my good friend. Our friendship est. since 2001 and since then we have grown so much closer, from being friends to now family. I can trust this girl with my life and I know she will take good care of it. She is the greatest friend any girl could ever have.

Darlene is my sis-in-law. She is the only person in this world that could ever understand and know how to deal with an "Orille" (besides my MIL). lol. We have build a good friendship over the years. She has helped and given me good advice on motherhood and even came along to help me choose my first pair of maternity jeans.

KC is my cousin-in-law and my one and only junior bridesmaid. She is the sweetest girl ever. And not to mention, the best babysitter in Daly City. hehe. She always makes me laugh. I still remember the time she asked me if I can curl her hair and do her make-up for her 8th grade dance. I was so honored. A few days ago, she told me I was the one who taught her how to curl her hair. I almost shed a tear. I love this kid.

Angel and April are my cousins. In spite of the distance we have from one another, I know these girls are kind, generous and will always be there for me when I need them. They are strong women and will always have a place in my heart. Love them both.

I never had a lot of girlfriends. I don't like to spread myself too thin. It wasn't that I was stuck-up or a snob (far from being those things). I got burned, stabbed many times in the past and for this reason, I choose my friends wisely. Friends come and go but family is always there for you. My friends are my family and all I ever need. Who needs friends when I have bridesmaids like these??? At one time or another, these girls have seen me at my happiest and saddest, the good and bad, at my best and worst and during times of struggle. They've witness my tears, my laughter and my joy. I will forever love these girls. I will do anything for them as they would for me.
Here are some photos of a few of the rings I gave to my bridesmaids....
I attached tags that said....
Will you be my bridesmaid?
Thank you for saying "I do"
Love you lots!

Another day in the life of Seattle....

Ryan, Natalie and I just got back from a family trip to Seattle! Yes, again! hehe. I'm sure your asking yourselves "Why Seattle again?" Well, the last time we were there for my cousin's wedding, we felt as tho our trip was cut too short. We didn't get to do all the things we had hoped on doing and we didn't get a chance to spend any time with the newlyweds. Plus, we had the pleasure of staying at my Aunt and Uncle's beautiful home set in a nice suburban neighborhood. Not to mention, a fully stocked pantry with lots of goodies to eat, a fridge with all the beverages you can possibly think of, a nice cozy room with a flat screen TV for Natalie to watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse every morning and they let us use their SUV for the week! My Auntie even washed and folded our laundry! We couldn't get better than that! I love my Auntie!

This trip was a little different from the others we've had, only because it was just the three of us. We didn't have my sister and her family. No other cousins. We only had my Mom and Dad for a day (they left for home a day after we got there so no baby sitter). We had my Auntie, my cousin Angel, my cousin April and her husband. And that was it.

I have a million pictures to show like I usually do. lol. I decided not to take my DSLR camera on this trip because it would be another thing I had to carry aside from Natalie's baby bag, laptop bag, bottle bag and my purse. I opted not to bring it. So, how did I take pictures? I used the camera on my iphone. hehe.

We had an amazing time. Lots of food as usual. lol. And last but certainly not least, we had the best tour guide! Thanks to my cousin Angel! Thank you all for your sweet hospitality! We love our Seattle family!

Here are the highlights of our trip to Seattle....
Natalie loves books =)
A trip wouldn't be complete without a quick stop to the Public Market for the best Piroshky! Piroshky is a russian bakery that sell baked goods.
We had one of my favorite things to eat...KOREAN BBQ!
My Aunt's suburban neighborhood is beautiful!
Natalie on her 1st car ride at the mall and she hated every minute of it...from the moment it started to move she wanted to be out. I wasted $1 on that ride! lol. After, my cousin and I took her to get a book at Borders while waiting for her Daddy to be done at the gym.
Yes! It was indeed weird! lol.
We had to try Portland's best doughnuts....VOODOO DOUGHNUTS!
